won't this just pull the fibres apart on a towel? How does this work I am confused? I do wash cloths alot but they are small & light-weight. The towels I have bought are big heavey & fluffly. I thought a couple of layers of wss & I'm good to go but now I am having 2cd thoughts. HELP!

I use a wash-away sticky in the hoop. I stick the towel to it - then baste it all together (I base the wash-away topper at the same time - I use wash-away thread too) then stitch the design. Then, clip the bobbin threads of the basting, tear away the topper, and cut away the wash-away sticky around the design and wash (so there is less to wash out). Works well for me (I do the same thing with anything washable like shirts, etc.).

I've used the sticky spray 505 by Sulky. Works great. The Emb Library is a good source of information as sewlikedawn has given you. One thing I do different is that I use a bit of the spray and the fix stitch on my machine instead of hooping the towel. Good luck.

I've never used the spray, my dealer says I'm better off without it, but when I do towels I hoop just the stablizer, then lay the towel on top and use the basting stitch to hold it down then poof I'm off. If your machine doesn' have a basting stitch you can pin real close to the edges.

I don't use sticky anything with towels - I hoop the stabilizer and then pin the towel to the stabilizer.

I found out the hard way the sticky stabilizer will pull the weave if you are not careful. I do like Shirlene and pin the towel in the hoop. Best of luck Lisa

I never use this as it is very costly ,when doing anything that needs spray i use little baby pins LOL carolyn

I do not use spray, Just hold it in place or use magic tape, I am afraid of the sticky mess.***

I hoop just the stabilizer and give it a shot of KK2000 that makes it slightly tacky and lets me position the towel until I pin it down. Not a lot, and it doesn't pull threads or stay there long.

I do what bikermomfl does. Hoop tearaway, make sure needle is in center of hoop, have center of design marked so I line it up right, do the "fix" or baste stitch which holds the towel to the stabalizer. Also stitch down the WSS at the same time on the top of the towel. they turn out great. I have also used the thing on my machine that goes from corner to corner to corner to show you the area of the design. As it stops at each corner, I make a pencil mark there, then on to the next corner, so I have the design area marked & then know where to place the towel, and continue as above. Let us know how it works. And yes, the sticky will pull the loops of the towel if you aren't really, really careful!!
