It is unfortunate that some countries do not obey copyrights of other countries. Perhaps this is what happened. I agree it is better to be safe than sorry.

Maybe they use the same clipart (Clipartoon has chinese zodiacs and they sell this set 6times)? Found some of the designs I bought at different sites but also in different quality (that sometimes also makes the price ;o).
Greetings, Bettina

If a digitizer doesn't do their own art work (for example, Vickie <basketkase> does), we all pretty much buy (or get freebie) commercial clipart from the same places. Some of the high end digitizers have custom, exclusive sets but I suspect you'll discover many sites carry the exact same designs. And yes, down to the exact font.

Quality of the digitizing can and will vary, no matter what the price. I've paid a lot (for me) for some designs, only to discover how poorly they were digitized. But a reputable digitizer will repair or replace a bad design.

LOL -- freebie designs are just that though. Up for grabs and we hope and pray they are good ones. :)

Just my rambling thoughts. :)

Are you talking about abc-embroidery and Anna Bove? I still haven't figured that one out, ABC was Anna Bove, but she seems to have started a new site, and the old one is still going but appears to be run by someone else??
There was a kerfuffle a while back, and I never did figure out what happened. All the designs that she had on the ABC site are still there, and also on her new site, but any designs since then have been different on both sites.

If I can remember this correctly, there was a site ABC Embroidery of which Anna Bove was part of. There was some conflict within the bisiness so Anna Bove set up her own site. She took some of her designs with her to the new site. Someone else may remember the story, I hope I got it right. Marg
