Can someone give me an idea why my machine keeps telling me to rethread the upper thread..its not undone???

I have a Brother and had the same problem. I found I have to make my top tension stronger.

thank you..i went to a different thread color change and its starting to run better...I don't understand why the violet didn't run but the olive is...ugh...its late and I am probably tired...THANK YOU FOR THE HELP...
Maybe it is thread rot. I hate to say it but I get this with my expensive Florianni thread. I switch to Metro and POOF the problem is g-o-n-e.....

IT'S BECAUSE IT'S FRIDAY - your machine knows the weekend is just around the corner Ha ha ha he he he!
It's 3.40pm and the school children are now off for a 2 and a bit week holiday, which includes Easter and then ANZAC DAY a national holiday here in Australia.
The only other thing I can think of with your machine Deanna is maybe it's not threaded properly. I've found this sometimes to be the case and I've just re-threaded and it's fine.

I just went through the same thing with my Brother ULT. I knew it was threaded correctly but it kept giving me the same rethread error message. It turned out to be that the timing needed to be adjusted. I always try everything I can think of and if all fails I take it in for a tuneup.

I've had this happen and just rethreaded it as I discovered that sometimes it doesn't catch in one spot and I can't see it to know it didn't. It's worked fine every time after rethreading.

Agree, I'd rethread it. BUT also check to see if you have a strand of another color left in the path.

I have found that sometimes the thread frays (especially Floriani) ( I only have 5 spools of this and will never buy it again!)
Once when I got that error message it was the bobbin. For some reason the bobbin thread was not being picked up, and I had been using Floriani and it had frayed twice. I changed the bobbin and it worked just fine.
If you have had the top thread fray - it can leave bits and pieces in the thread trace and that will cause problems.... changing to the new color had nothing to do with it working (unless you also changed thread brands) -- but changing the thread might have cleaned out the trace.
It is aggravating isn't it?
I never know when I sit down to embroider what gremlin will be in my machine that day!

One of two things, either you quickly threaded your spool or bobbin.
As for the floriani thread, I have it and love the sheen look. I also use Coates, on sale with Joanns, but now Metro is my gig. Love the Huge spools.

meant to say....either you quickly threaded your spool or bobbin wrong.
Just try rethreading, and be sure you have a long enough tail on your spool that you can anchor it as the machine starts to purrrrrr

I have a Aurora 440. My machine kept telling me the thread had snapped. I kept on taking my machine in. Eventually it was explained the sensor is where the thread goes through a wire loop and the thread pops out of there so you get this "thread broken" message. Take the cover off, look where the wire loop is. Thread your machinne to see where the thread goes. Gently push the loop behind the metal plate and downwards so it stays there! if you don't have a Bernina ask you agent to explain where the sensor is.
