OK Cuties, we all have favourite embroidery tools that we simply can't get by without, I don't mean machine features, just the little items you use that make your embroidering easier. Mine is a pair of long handled, curved embroidery scissors, I use them constantly when I'm embroidering, even though my machine has a 'cut' feature. I use them (closed) to hook onto threads and of course, open, to snip messy starting or jump threads, having a long curved handle they make it so much easier. What's your favourite "Must Have" tool? Please share....

I agree meganne I also would be lost without my curved embroidery scissors, I have a small pair which I always keep at the machine and I think I wouldn't live without my rotary cutter, mat and ruler...... they make cutting so much easier that I forgot where my fabric shears are! spring flowers for you

meganne, it's a toss-up between my *squissors*, which I use all the time. And a *very small mirror* on an icy-pole stick, that I use to check that I'm not going to run out of bobbin thread - I just slip this under the hoop during color changes, and I can see if I have enough thread without removing the hoop. Meg, thank you for the interesting way that you opened your question up. Hehehe! I couldn't live without my magnifying glass and light that sits right next to my machine - I have a bit of trouble seeing all those little thread to snip away - my dear husband bought it for me - awhile back - I may have to take a picture of it - to share how neat it is. I also couldn't live without the thread holder - mine is just for one spool of KingStar thread - it sits to the right of my machine and it works for me with every project that I make. Hehehe! *4U

well I also have a pair of curved scissors that I use for snipping those threads, my rotary cutter and mat and my square template to make sure my squares are square (duh) still have crooked quilts, maybe it's just me and some high powered floor lamp that bends so I can see 'under' the machine in those little dark places for threads etc, especially when working on dark colors or with dark threads they tend no to show up very well. meganne , That is such a good question. I couldn't do without my curved scissors that I hang on a long cord around my neck ( never Lose them HA HA HA )My rotary cutter , mat and rulers I couldn't live without. But this may sound crazy but straight pins. I keep them handy to pin the fabric in the hoop and to always have ao I can score the sticky back and remove paper. Flowers for all the good hints.

Top of the list would be my curved tweezer type scissors. After that would come the rotary cutter, mat and pins. I almost forgot about the special tool that Viking has to tighten the screw on the hoops! That would be right next to the special scissors.

mine would be my thread snippers,iron and ironing board,usual rotary cutter,mat and pins. But I also like ruthies idea with the small mirror goning to try that as my machine is always telling me out of bobbin thread.And we all want to squeeze out that last few stiches on the bobbin thread.

By habit I guess, would be long handled tweezers to hold end of threads up and then the spring type snipers with curved blades to cut the thread ends on embroidery projects.

Spell Check, which this site doesn't have. Oh, your mean for sewing? Hmmmm I made a felt pocket with velcro on the back. It's attached to my machine so I can keep track of scissors, tweezers etc. I'd be lost without it... and so would my scissors.

Well I hate to admit it but it would be my "computer glasses". The eye doctor switched my lenses so that the bi-focal was on top so I could see the computer without giving me a neck pain at work. I have found they also work great while working at my embroidery machine along with the magnified light of course. :) And of course I use them while downloading all the great patterns from sites our cute family has shared. Would not be much fun if I couldn't see what I was doing or reaching for. hahaha

Meg, funny you should ask this, but I have recently figured out, I can't do without the cord to my embroidery machine. I seemed to have misplaced it and will have to buy a new one. I also haven't figure out a way to make my machine work with those floppy disks, but I am going to the dealer in the next day or two and ask for a class, my daughter said that she would take me. I have lots of cards to use so I can still embroider, but I want to use some new designs that I have to put on those floppy disks, now. HaHa A flower for you.
