Wow... I see that you have been here since 2009... So I guess I am confused by your question... You have been a "Cutie" since 2009 !!!!

My same thought.
Yep Bev.... Mine too.... As you probably know already I don't usually confront... BUT.. I also don't like when some one tries to make us cuties think something that is not true !!
I felt kind of stupid,, just in a hurry to help i guess. Maybe it's a late April Fools joke, Not funny

I see that you are confused by my Question. Yes I have been here for since 2009, but was just wondering how other members found this site. Was it by accident, or word of mouth etc?
That is not how you posted ...
When you said you just happened upon this site while googling machine embroidery i thought you meant just now. The question was confusing. Sorry but i just read it the way it was written

I could accept this as an excuse ... except there are questions on her profile that she asked on 19 Aug 2009... and thru to 5 days ago....

I see you have changed this post from "how do you become a "cutie" to "how did you become a cutie".....

"do" to "did" BIG DIFFERENCE...
Once a comment is added one can not change the wording any more. I wish we could. Many times I see a typing error to late to be able to correct it.
Oh... I have edited my comments with in a time frame....

I think I came across the embroiderytop.com site, the one we use to vote for CUTE. Seems a long time ago. Sign up for a couple from there, but use Cute the most.

I was looking on the web for embroidery sites and came across Cute. I read a few questions and answers and thought - I like this site. The people here are just so kind and helpful. I have made so many cyber friends!!!!

I am somewhat confused and offended by some of the responses that have been posted to the question that was asked. I understand that it originally was posted with a different word and was later edited to the word that was intended. Some of the people who post to this site have English as a second, third or brief introduction language and do not always use the proper words to convey what it is they are trying to say or ask. I don't think that is the care here but what if it was? I understand that you want to keep people who just want to make trouble for the site out but I also see so many people saying that "newbies are welcome" (not the case here), "we are such a friendly group" and "feel free to ask any question". I feel like vickiannette was attacked for a poor choice of wording. I see many typos and grammatical errors in the posts to this site all the time but I never once thought to confront these people for thinking faster than their fingers could type or simply not knowing the proper spelling, grammar or not proofreading what they typed before submitting the question or answer. When I first saw the question with "do" I assumed she meant "did" without giving it a second thought and was going to post that I saw a post on DesignsbySick referring to this site and again saw the group listed on Embroiderytop voting but decided to read the other answers first. I am not sure I am glad that I read the entire thread. I have been contemplating my answer for over an hour now trying to choose my words carefully so that I try not to offend anyone with my response. Please tell me if I am out in left field with my comment but I think we need to take a second look at what we are about to submit in order to make sure that this is a fun site for all people who are into machine embroidery. And remember spoken and printed words cannot be taken back.

How new do you have to be to be a newbie? i answered the question the way it was asked,I don't think i have ever offended anyone and I am not out to make any trouble here. i hope i can continue to express my opinion in the manner i choose. If not why bother to answer any questions at all. That is just my opinion .

There is also the time factor involved. Often I reply to something that had not been answered and by the time I submit 3 people were faster than I am. I make so many mistakes, typing and with grammer and honestly sometimes I cancel my post because I am not sure about my spelling. I wish I would have time to run everything through a spellcheck. It would take all the fun out of interacting with Cuties.
Angie please don't cancel because of spelling. A real cutie will always know what you wanted to write. Love G.

I don't really remember how I happened upon the Cute Embroidery site. Was recovering from surgery and a broke hip so things were quite foggy but probably Googled "embroidery" like you.

I bought my first subs to this site April 29, 2010, so that makes me almost a One-year Cutie.....
But.....
Like you, I had Googled 'machine embroidery' many times and found some interesting information from about February, 2006, when I got my HVDII, Quilting Kit, Embroidery Kit and 3D Pro Embroidery unit for my 70th Birthday. CuteEmbroidery.com and DesignsBySick.com became my favourite stop-off sites after work each night, along with a few still-special sites where the designs just fascinate me.
I visited this site daily for well over a year before I paid my first subs, trying to find my way around and working out what happened here, while I dug deep for the courage to open and tackle my new embroidery unit and all that that entails. I broke open the brand new box on April 30,2009, three years after I bought it.
The more I found out about ME the more confused I became but I still called in here for my daily freebies, wondering 'what the heck am I going to do with these?'..... and so the Grand Collection Addition began.
Gradually the light dawned and I took the plunge, so to speak, and I haven't looked back.
I bless the day I found the courage to download my first designs from here and I bless the day I paid my subscription so that I could get every design on offer here. Veronika's designs please me immensely.
Most sites have their special features but this one is unique - let's keep it that way. Friendship and camaraderie are wonderful attributes to enjoy.

I bought my Brother 1500D for Xmas 2007. Our dtr had bought a second hand machine off e-bay from the US. So she advised me regarding stabilizers, threads etc. She also knew about Cute and advised me to visit. Best thing I ever did. My first subscription here was May 2008. I have had 3 subs all up and almost ready to make it 4. So to answer your question I have to say I am here because of my daughter. Marg

well I suppose I came here by coincidence , because I saw this site on the embroidery top. And coming here, I liked it so much so I never left the site anymore, I even stay here too long sometimes.....

I think, after reading some of the responses, that I will just say that I found this site by chance and love it. My education may not be great but I try to do things right.

As you can see from the posts there are differences. But that is what a family is like. Opinions are welcome, enjoy this site , it will make you smile, cry and even sometime what to scream. But everyone on this site has one thing in common a,Big Heart. So enjoy.

I have been coming here since the first alphabet started. One of the sites I went to daily for a design, had a link to Cute, and I took it. For a long long time, I just read posts and did not reply or ask questions. Then One day, I took the leap!!! Lol. Hugs, Judy

I don't remember exactly how I ended up on this site, but I had googled machine embroidery and was on several sites and kept coming back to this one. I had bought my machine a yr and a half ago but have only been doing embroidery for the last 6 months. It took me a while to get up the courage to actually embroider something. I used a piece of blue jean mat. to practice on.
I have been working on my first project and am almost done. I know it won't be as good as what some of you do.
I also didn't ask questions or answer any for quite a while and then finally did not very long ago.

I believe I was drawn to this site whilst looking for Embroidery Designs - not by chance but by a higher calling. I love it and hope to be on here for years to come. I've been on here for over 4 years. Love and blessings Chris
