TASK!? Did you use the word TASK in the same context as embroidery!!! What!!!
It does tend to consume your day....oh well!

I am going through a quiet period at the moment. Don't know what to do and have nothing in mind and it is driving me crazy. Nothing on TV so I find myself playing Cards on this old girl. Maybe you should pass some of yours to me to do for you.

I have set aside 2 days a week to do nothing but sewing & embroidering. Mon. I clean & straighten up house along with washing etc. & I'm usually tired from Sun. because we attend church bot morning & evening. Tues & Wed. I sew. Thur. & Fri I keep my 3 yr. old Great G. son. seems I accomplish more setting these 2 days aside instead of spending some time here & there ea. day./Lillian

Well i have wore the heads off 3 sewing machines untill i learned they do need a drink of oil!!The repair man just can't believe it.I emb. 4 to 6 hours in the winter and go camping in the summer and give my machines a wee break lol carolyn

I am trying to just get into my sewing room! I have been having my GD more and more each week. She 3 so I can't get much done at all. I do love spending time with her.

Sometimes it's difficult to stop, but set yourself a limit. Embroidery is so much fun it's difficult to discipline yourself, but you usually have to pay for it the next day - at least that's what I find.

Depends on the project and the time I have on hand and deadline, with working hours emb time is limited and with family around it is too.
DH and DS often just let me finish my projects´and do the tasks I would normaly do to pamper them, and on other days I pamper them. So it is teamwork here. If I am in time need to get all my tasks done on my own it helps me to do 15min parts of "work" and then 15min of "fun".

When I start a design I finish it right then. My machine (Brother 780D is too hard to get back to the right place if I turn the machine off.) The $3000 one could be turned off and would go back to the correct stitch when you turned it back on.

For that much more money than I spent -- I can just finish the design. :)

If I have more than one design on an item sometimes I will do the second or third one the next day.

My dealer told me that none of the home embroidery machines are made to run all day every day. They will burn up. For that you need one of the multi needle professional machines.

I always stop for a minute or two when sewing out a very large dense design to give the machine a rest. If I'm sewing multible designs on an item I let it rest a few minutes between designs.

When i start a project i finish it the same day. I think as long as your embroidery does not take over your family time and no one is neglected including the cat and dog you are fine. If family complain you are spending more time with your embroidery than you are with them maybe its time to refocus on whats important.
