many are not so lucky. The only thing we lost was power for 12 or so hours and cable TV and internet. That is nothing compared to the many lives and homes that are lost. So many sad stories. Be thankful for your family and homes. Just keep them in your prayers. There were are also many miracles. Sara

Thanks, our son has no power and may not till Saturday. But they are okay. Just a power line thingy, sorry Wade tried to explain it to me, but I an not trained in electric's, Just something about a reset they need to do.
Our son is also still without power. He lives up close to Trenton, Ga. But it is because a tree took out the transformer to his house. His neighbors on both sides have power.

Sara, My family and I are very blessed to be alive. We live about 1 1/2 miles from where the tornades hit and killed several people. In Dekalb county alone 30-40 people lost their lives on April 27th from these tornades. We knew some of them. We have been without electricity for 9&1/2 days, it just came back on this afternoon. If you haven't seen pictures of the destruction go to youtube.com there are videos of the tornades in the Rainsville, Al. area where I live. I pray that we never see anything like this again. You are right so many sad stories but so many miracles also. Please pray for all those that loss loved ones.

Glad you're ok. We find out just what's important in life at times like this. Our daughter only lost power in Huntsville for about 5 days, but they were fine. Our prayers have been & will continue to be with the people in Ala.

One does not realize how blessed they are 'till they look around & realize how many lost everything they own as well as loved ones. Even if we had no direct damage I believe everyone has been touched in someway by these killer storms. Every where people are working on help & relief for those who need it./Lillian

Lillian, I'm glad to hear you are ok! How close did the tornades come to you? I've seen the destruction from other places on tv, but when you can drive down the road just a short distance and see it, it really gets to you. I am so thankful to God for his protection. Yes, the cleanup and rebuilding will take a long time, but I believe the pain of loss will always remain with those that lost someone they loved on that terrible day.
