am a female, I was impressed when i saw your profile and will like to establish a long lasting relationship with you. In addition,i will like you to reply me through my private e mail box"

Sounds really fishy to me, they gave me a yahoo email address to contact them. I hope I am not going to start getting stuff like this. Anyone else get anything like this??

No, just get some offers from yahoo grouply :o(
Just press the delete-button. If Bella wants to get in contact with you she can start here with PMs (like we both ;o). Hope we two have a "long lasting relationsship" (isn't that the terminus for something like marriage? I'm not a native-speaker but I would always talk about friendship ;o).
Greetings, Bettina

Usually that kind of relationship is for naughty fun times, lol. Yeah, I am deleting it, just wondered if it was going around to others here, I have never even signed in on that site so I knew it wasn't right.

sure does seem fishy. I doubt it is from embroidery mentor, I bet that someone is using a tell a friend function on there site to send spam, this has happened on my site. If it were from embroiderymentor it would have an unsubscribe option at the bottom of the email. because I just checked and there sign up for the newsletter have a safe unsubscribe on there sign up.

I typed in the web site and it doesn't even look like a yahoo one. I know yahoo ones send a lot of junk. I would never click on a link I didn't know for sure was good.
by obaachan 04 May 2011
I didn't intend for any one to think that I thought your email was from a yahoo group.. I was just saying that I sometimes get crap like this thru a certain yahoo group that I am a member..

I got the exact same email from her. I just deleted it. Apparently she has joined the 'My Embroidery Mentor' group and sending these out to everyone in the group. It is not a Yahoo Group but is a group that is private and sponsored by an embroidery educator. I am a member there.

Me, too. I marked it as phishing and didn't reply. The wording sounds like almost a non English post.

My Internet provider offers a "spam cuff" which weeds out stuff like this and it doesn't even come into my in box. Sure saves me a lot of time and aggravation.

Just ignore it and delete it. When you read it, the bells and whistles go off. Belonging to yahoo groups does not necessarily mean you will get more junk.Everything we have ever written is still out there in cyberspace, so those people with not enough constructive stuff to do will find ways to contact us and annoy us. That's just one of those things you have to put up with. Use your own judgement.

Look what I get today from 2 different mail-ID's.
What a luck I get a function on my Mac that just send the mails back with "adress does not exist" so they get their spam back right away ;o)
Greetings, Bettina

Did you get the email from Deborah Jones at EmbroideryMentor. She apologized and is taking measurements to see this doesn't happen again. Apparently it was someone who has access to her site.

From Deb Jones Embroidery Mentor.com website.
A message to all members of My Embroidery Mentor
Hello,
I am deeply sorry about the recent inappropriate post that somne of you received. I have taken steps that are available within the Ning network to stop and avoid future posts.
I am also looking at other platforms that can support our community of embroiderers. I like the robust type of platform that allows our members to post photos of their projects and so on.
Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions for other site platforms...
Thanks for your understanding,
Deborah Jones

I would just block that email address and see what happens. It could be an accident but for some reason, I am thinking it may not be. It does sound strange. I would be careful not to answer it until you know it is alright.
