Well it's me again, i hope I'm not becoming a nuisance asking for your prayers again, but here I am asking as Thursday I am going for my MRI! I have to admit that I am a bit freaked out !

Dear Loralye,

I will keep you in my prayers today and will ask for you to be calm when having the MRI. They are very noisy I believe. I pray the results will be in your favour. Love and blessings Chris

This is a noninvasive scan and hopefuly it will rule out that there are no problems going on. Praying for a good outcome.

From one who often has prayer requests, your requests are NEVER a nuisance. That's what we are all here for to support and hold each other up. I pray the MRI results are what you want and that you feel more comfortable going in for it tomorrow.
Love to you,
Laura

Loralye, please stay calm and remember that God is in charge - these sort of test need to be performed by the doctors - to give them a better understanding of what you and they are dealing with. Rick and I have both had many of them. We will be praying for you dear.

It seems there are a lot of cancer survivors on this site.
While we may be physically weakened, we gain a deeper emotional insight... I read that in your message... "cancer or no cancer".
I wish you well and will keep you in my thoughts.

I will include you in my prayers. Hugs and hope for continued good health. *4U

Sweetie , I had a MRI last year to check for a tumor behind my ear, which turned out negative. First of all , no one told me it would take 45 min in a tube and can't move. The noises were terrible even with ear plugs. Sounded like freight trains and jackhammers,. I am not telling you this to scare you , only to prepare you. You will get through it!!!

If it's any help, I always close my eyes and imagine I'm on a long train journey, I look out the window and see all sorts of beautiful scenes in my head and the noises just become part of my day dream.
Now to understand, I have very, very sensitive hearing, DH says I could hear two flies climbing up a wall and that's not far from the truth. I'm also claustrophic, which is why I have to close my eyes and pretend to be somewhere else or else I would have a panic attack.
I'm telling you this so you feel comforted, if I can get through them, anyone can.
Besides, not all MRI's are the same. I had one two weeks ago and it only lasted ten minutes. It all depends what they are scanning and how up to date their equipment is.

They found no tumours in mine and most of the time our greatest fears are just that, fears.

Fear itself can manifest and cause all sorts of symptoms, the everyday stresses of life can do the same and quite often stress can be at the root of most of our health issues......

SO PLEASE DON'T BE AFRAID, it doesn't help anything, it doesn't solve anything and you will only make yourself feel worse.

Come on girl, Cowgirl Up and get it over with.
You will be fine!!!!
hugs and blessings, Meganne

well my face is my indication of where stress manifests itself, I have broken out, & I too have sensitive hearing & am claustrophobic & I took the mask that I posted Wednesday to cover my eyes & I have a CD that I bring! It all helps! Thanks for your support Meganne! Hugs Loralye

I almost forgot, sending you a horse so you can jump clean over your fears.
Then when it's all done you can do a Bruce Willis and shout Yippii Ki Yay, Mother F....!
Now, give us a big smile :-))))

Meganne, you are a ray of sunshine....Helen
Had another Ct scann last week and that was bad enough. At the thought of the MRI machine I need your beautiful scenes in my mind too.
by sewbadly 05 May 2011
Meganne, you just made my day. Bruce Willis with his Yippii Ki Yay...How expressive. Perfect for situations where the "Happy Dance" just does not work.

Here is what helps me...
Is this the worst thing that could happen to me?
If the answer is no, it helps reduce the current fear. Oh, and the answer is always... no.

Having said that, I will never have a MRI due to metal in my head... talk about mixed blessings.

You can do this with style. Good wishes.

I always have them give me a valium before an MRI and I've had several MRI's. I am claustrophic and would certainly panic in a MRI. I do pray the outcome of your tests are all negative. Keep us posted.
