You have to learn to say NO!!--some people expect too much for you to do.
You will enjoy it--kinda get a little lazy.

I am going into hiding for a couple weeks, so no one can ask me to do for them, is that selfish or what?

Congratulations! We have found retirement to be a bit boring so you have to find things to keep busy but I am so happy hubby doesn't have to put up with the factory job any more, 43 years was too long.

I don't think I'll be bored, a huge garden and yard, crafting and artsy fartsy out my ears, 14 grandchildren. No, I won't be bored

Congratulations Terri, and I know you will run out of time to do all the things you plan to do every day.
Just make sure that you spend your first week, turning off your alarm clock when it rings, and rolling over to go back to sleep for another hour or so, with a very big grin on your face.

Enjoy taking your time to do your housework, when it suits you.
Come and visit Cute with a cup of coffee instead of feeling rushed.
Catch up reading and replying to all your emails
Sit and enjoy reading those magazines, soaking in a bubble bath
Make some special dinners that you haven't had time to make, since forever
etc., etc., etc.
In other words Kick up your heels and ENJOY!!!!!

Congratulations!
Hope the transistion goes well,I think it takes getting used to. Home life can be extra lonely..and extra busy. You will find, chores can either be rush jobs like they used to be, or take up the whole day.
Have fun and enjoy your freedom.
Hugs Bev

My dear friend - I know you look forward to the time that you will have to do all the things that you want to do - you will be so busy - I hope they are giving you are retirement party and that everyone of your students for the past 20+ years come to say something about you as their teacher. Congratulations.
