I have a very slow and intermittent internet connection at the moment. I've just spent the last hour trying to find out if someone received her Secret Santa Birthday gift and to do so I had to plough through seven pages of messages in the Public Section. Most of these seemed to be thanking Veronika for the Rooster design (which is beautiful). I am absolutley mystified why so many people used the Public section to say thank you when they could have used a Private message.
I think this is a contributing factor to the slow speed of the site.
I'm going to dive for cover now as I suspect I'm in a minority!

No you are not...Only problem is, it seems that few are able to either send or retrieve a PM.

Using the same thread would be a help too; sometimes you haven't a clue to what question it's supposed to be the answer.

I agree with you..but as many are new, give them time to figure things out...I keep getting time-out messages whenever I go to projects, dbc, or answer questions then try and return...ugh, I guess its the LORDs way of telling me to get my taxes done for Wednesdays meeting....

Personally, I think most Cuties want to Thank someone in Public, but I think it would be nice if they would PM the sender also. I haven't been able to be part of this, so I am not a good person to comment. But that's my opinion. Hope this works out for all concerned. Hugs & Blessings, Judy

The Secret Birthday gift thanks deserves a Public message - as it is secret they wouldn't know who to thank! It is about 30 messages thanking Veronika for the Rooster which are slowing things down!

I agree with mops; use the same thread and there will be fewer posts. I added my thanks to Veronika to a post that someone else started. Education over time will hopefully help. -- Aileen

We should be glad that people had the common sense to even say Thank You. I'm sure Ms Veronika did not mind where it was posted. Thank you again Ms Veronika it is a very nice rooster

This is a hard one to comment on - as I do believe that the THANKS for Veronika are due her - but a PM for some post - rather than a public one are necessary - if you ask me.
The whole community section is a free for all right now - but who can direct what needs to be posted and where? We don't have a monitor for the site and chances of that happening are slim to none. I am not sure that the PM section is set up right for added messages to it - because if they are not answered then you have this huge number that go unanswered and you have to decide - is #28 your #00 or what number is once you have answered them. It would be great - if we could delete them - if both parties agreed to doing that. And why send a public message to say you have a private message, as well?
I am sorry you had to wade through so much - to find a posting - that you were looking for - I don't remember running across a Secret Birthday - in the last week - so of coarse - I wouldn't have known to mark it or bring it forward with a message - so I am of no use. We really don't know whom the other members of the SECRET are - unless we see them post something - so we can't assist you with this either. So sorry.

I would like to be able to leave with a smile - however - here is a piece of pie - have it with a cuppa and have a good day.
