the pics of what I have downloaded again, but they are just going into my downloads and not onto my desk top. I then have to drag them onto my desktop. Not so much a problem as long as I remember to do this before I clear them all. I am so much happier now and not so frustrated. Love to all who have given me hints on how to rectify my problem.

Glad you are getting things working again, but it sounds like you have had a big job. Hope it never happens to me. I'd be lost, would have to call the

Lyn, you shouldn't store designs on your desktop, especially if each one is going to be viewed as an icon or image file. Doing this will use up all your virtual memory and make your computer run very slow. It takes a lot of memory to show image files and the more images you try to show at the same time the more you reduce your available memory resources.
Your designs should be saved in My Documents then you can place a SHORTCUT to My Documents on your desktop so it will be easy to find.

Meganne I do, do this but when I unzip I like the pic to go onto mt desktop first and then I put them in their own folder eg., butterflies, frogs etc.
I agree with Meganne - better to unzip and sort them from a folder than to have them all over your desktop.
