You shouldn't have to attach a warning...but heavens knows there are a lot of "sue crazy" folks out there! I'd never thought about it!! Never seen anything attached. Check the soother straps in the stores & see if they have anything attached to them. May want to at least type up something to go with the pillow that it's for decorative only just in case.

It sound like a good idea, or you can just add a tag saying that you do not take any responsibility in the event of any damages incurred in the use of the product? Something in that line, just something to shift the blame on the user not you. Hope you get it figured out. In South Africa people do not sue for stuff like that but I have heard that in some counties they sue for anything.

This is a tricky problem. Many crafters here write a note to give things to the children just under observance. If you wanna be sure you can mark them as an article not for kids under 36months but that is ridiculous for a bottle or soother strap.

Are you asking about permission to sell the designs on the items you've made? If so, each designer will have their restrictions either on the site itself, or included when you download the design.
As far as the item itself, you would need to check your state and local laws for that. Again, by going online and looking up the child safety laws for your state, you can find information on what you need to do to cover yourself. A good starting point would be to go to a store that sells that kind of item, say the baby pillow and check to see what is on the package and the item itself. It will give you an idea of what you will need to do.

I have made an 'instruction sheet' that I place in the bag of everuthing I sell, it has a brief washing instructions and small note saying 'it is your responsibility to use these items wisely and safely' So far so good no problems....

This makes me wonder whatever happened to just plain old common sense. Of course it can be a choking hazard, everything is to a baby or small child. The parent or care giver should be the one responsible after the purchase is made.

I've never seen anyone put anything on items they sell at craft shows. Like someone else said - what happened to common sense?!!
A good question though especially with people not using common sense. Better to be safe than sorry.

Unfortuately, you must put something on there. One has to protect themselves. Courts won't do it for you. Several good ideas mentioned here.
