I dealt with this problem for a long time also. I was then told that the machine will only accept up to the 5x7 design, even though you might have the larger hoop. You can use the larger hoop and then re-position it using the 3 different positions on the machine. The reader card is not as smart as we would like for it to be. I am trying to get a machine that will allow me to do the larger design. You might think about that also.

I think the answer below is probably right. I have an old Bernina machine and it also has a large hoop that my card reader will not accept. Welcome to Cute.

Hi and welcome to Cute. What Brother machine do you have. I am presuming you have a Brother as you are using PE design. There are a number of Brother machines which only use a small hoop, though you may have a larger hoop. If your machine has a max size of 10 cm by 10 cm it will not read the larger design on the memory card that you are fitting into the machine. Please add further details if you need more information.

If you are using the Ped Basic Card reader/writer to transfer the designs from the computer to the card you must select the correct hoop size before transferring the design to the card. There is a hoop selection at the top left hand side with an arrow to allow a drop down box to choose the correct hoop size..

I see you have your answer,lv2sew is quiet correct.Also to check your designs are not maximum size for your hoop,I can get an error sometimes, if it is, they need a teeny tiny bit smaller.[4x4 is not exactly 100x100]
(Tip for PE Design:
Also when in doubt use the "help" it is the same as my manual,It shows at the top bar rhs in all applications of P-E design. I found this most helpful when I was learning my program.)
