Isn't it rather early to make a Christmas cake or is this for Christmas in July?

It is Xmas cake recipe but we usually treat it as a fruit cake ,so several are made through the year.It wil be lucky to last the month (over 2kgs).Brother -in-law has be known to eat it for breakfast

After many days of sunshine we have rain since yesterday and it is much colder than the 86°F/30°C we had so far but I don't think that I start making christmas-cookies (but my son Felix is always happy when we does and he would like to cut cookies the whole year through ;o).
