Embird has a new version out. It took me days of fiddling to get my original download to work and I have n't a clue where to start to upgrade. Do I have to unistall first before I install the new? Is it better to do the all-in-one-version or should I download Manager and studio separately? Is there anybody out there who has successfuly done this help me? I am running windows 7 64bit and can only use computers when everything is installed and working!! TIA Suet.

I install the all in one version. Then when they send me the password for the update I purchased, I enter it, and it activates the new update.

First, make sure the User Access Control is turned off. That will solve a lot of headaches. I downloaded the main program and studio separately. Running the executable from the main program will prompt you to uninstall the current version. Let it uninstall the old version, but do not let it uninstall any plugins or any extra directories. Once the uninstall is complete, let it reboot the computer. Then run the executable again and this time it will install the new version. I did not have to do anything with registration. It recognized my registration codes and used them. Afterward, I ran the studio file that I downloaded and just let it unzip the files into the default location. Also, I am running Windows 7, 64 bit

I totally agree with Don, he has given you very good instructions, so if you print them out and follow them, to the letter, you won't go wrong.

Thank you for your help everyone. I was 99% succesfull with the download. The only thing that is not working properly is that I cannot see the thumbnails when I go to open eof files in studio. All I can see are pics of a file with 'eof' written on them. I can see the thumbnails in manager, editor and explorer. can anybody help with this? TIA Suet

When you are in studio and click on design>open, pay careful attention to the right upper side of the "Open" screen, you will see the button called "preview".
Put your mouse over the eof till it turns blue then click on the preview button. It will show you the design in the right side of the "open" screen.
