I bought a design a while ago, and it must have been auto digitized and not tested. How can some sell designs without testing them first? This one I bought is just terrible. I sent her a message asking her if she tested the design, but no reply as of yet. I wonder how many other have bought designs from her, only to be dissapointed. Not only was it a waste of money, but my thread and time.
Thank you for letting me vent!

Most digitizers will have free designs on their pages for you to try before you purchase designs. This is what I do, I try the freebies first to see the quality.

No, it would not be rude to ask. Maybe she will be kind enough to refund your money or give you credit for another design. I have been very, very lucky. I have never purchased a design that was bad. I've had some bad freebies which is why I don't go looking for them and I know that there can be bad purchased as well as freebies. Good luck. Just remember to add a little sugar to your request, just might get better results. Carol

I am so sorry that you had a bad experience. I usually judge the quality of the designs by the quality of the "freebies" on the site.
I wonder... did you get other formats? Did you convert the design to your format? I know sometimes when you purchase a design and you convert it with your software, you can loose "information" in the process. You might not get the same effects as the original design had. I hope the digitizer replies to your email.
But... you were right to come here and vent... we don't mind. We all need to do so sometimes.

This experience with the changing colors is very frustrating. When I convert some designs with embird from pes to jef I have to redone all the colors. That's why I buy my designs in jef (I have a brother and a janome and not every embroiderypage offers multi-zips) cause the other way I had never the same trouble. I was very dissapointed when I bought a couple of designsets in jef and all the colors where terrible. Was a lot of work to get in every design correct the colors and back up this new version.

It is not rude at all. If you were talking to a designer face to face would you ask them the question? Then the internet should be no different. The internet does give a degree of distance in the transaction but if the seller has a problem giving you information then the sale is not worth it. Hope the seller does the right thing and answers you.

I don't think it is rude at all. I think it is rude not to reply to emails if a customer emails you and asks a question. How long ago did you send the email?

I don't think it would be rude at all. If it was me, I would want to know and I would make it right....but as in every profession there are a few that bad and spoil the whole barrel......let her know.....
I hope you have better luck than I did....I got a bad freebie and I found the site, left an email and to this day have not heard from them....they don't want to claim it I guess but it was so cute, it only needed a little work.....I fixed it out of the hoop.....and I don't digitize nor do I have any software......lol

I recently sent an email complaining about the digitising and stitchout of 5 designs out of a set of 10 that I had bought (on a sale !) and I received a lovely email back about two weeks later with completely redigitised designs and in two different sizes !!! I do not mind telling you which website it was - astitchahalf.com - I am very impressed with them and will continue to support them. Maybe you should also tell us which person sold you a dud so that we can avoid her ???

I agree as I would hate to do business with someone that does not have the decency to reply to customer that has a problem with their product.

Thank you all for the replies, If I don't hear back from her this week, I'll send her another message. This one may not be as nice as the first one.
To those who asked...I didn't convert the design, I ordered it in DST format, and I didn't resize it. I used it in the way it was sent to me.
To Bettina, when you use "DST" format, all the colors are messed up, so that's nothing new to me.
Flowers for all that replied
Thank you

I am wondering if you bought this design off of eBay. I have a friend that now digitizes & she told me when she 1st got into embroidery she was buying off of eBay & they were all bad designs. Then she went into digitizing & was selling on eBay & used an auto digitizer thinking they would come out perfect but soon realized it did not do a good job at outlining after being finally told by a customer that the design did not come out like expected. My friend told me she did not check them before selling them because she thought with an auto digitizer they had to come out perfect. Wrong!! Now she does not use an auto digitizer & she does check her designs before selling them. So if I were you I would contact the person again & if you did get them off of eBay you can file a dispute as long as you have not let it go to long.

No, this was not on ebay, It was from someones website that sell designs just like we all go to everyday.
When I first started ebroidery, ( a few years ago) I bought most of my designs off of ebay, and never had a bad one.
I think more and more people think digitizing is so easy because they can just pop out auto digitized designs and not bother to test them before selling them, or giving them free. I take very few free designs anymore unless I know where they come from. I usually test all my designs before I stitch them on anything good.

Mary ann, I was having a think about your question and I remembered a couple of years ago I got an email from a customer. She had not received her download link. I emailed it to her and got another email saying that I was very rude for not replying, I then emailed it 2 more times, once from my website email and also from my yahoo email. I got another email, she was getting very annoyed saying that I still had not replied to her. I then refunded her money through paypal and sent a message from there apologising. I didn't here from her again. I was so frustrated because I had tried several times to reply to her but for some reason she was not getting my emails. I still don't know what the problem was. I still worry to this day that people don't receive my support emails or that I don't receive their queries, I know have my mobile number at the top of my website, but I don't know if people would bother calling. Just playing devils advocate here in case the cyber gods are playing tricks. but I do think it is rude not to make every effort to return emails to people, even if the problem is with a free design.

After reading Alice's reply I want to add the following. Some e-mail providers have there own spam. You don't even get the chance to check if there is something in there that shouldn't be. I used to have Comcast and used their e-mail with allowing spam so I could check it. Most of my friends e-mails from Europe were bounced back to them. I was never aware of it and found out through telephone calls. Neither was I able to solve the issue. Now I have a yahoo account and a goggle one. Yahoo has 20 to 30 spams per day in the spam folder and google maybe 1 a week if that much. How can that be? Obviously Google weeds it out what they think is spam.

I Believe that a good digitizer would never autodigitize a design, with the exception of lettering.. if they have a web site they will show actual stitchout of designs, offering free samples to show the quality of their work..
They are in business for repeat custom..
Also any digitzer would welcome any honest concerns.
as I have offered many designs here in DBC..
I Used to offer many formats but I can only test pes format myself, so now when I place any new designs there I only place pes format, because I cannot answer concerns about other formats.
Big hugs from London

No, it wouldn't be rude. It wouldn't be any different than anything else you buy and get it home and it's not right.
