next thing I knew I bought everything she had sewing related for $15.00 What a bargain. I thought I was only purchasing 1 box of material, some templates and rulers, next thing I know her husband is rolling boxes out of the house and over to my car. totally forgot about the table LOL had to go back to pick up other items I bought and there was more boxes for me. Dod buy the table too.

Pics to follow of some things

Got to love a bargain. I picked up big bolts of upholstery fabric and industrial size cones of serger thread a couple years ago at a yard sale. You look like you are set for a while.

Lucky you ,she must have been desperate to get rid of it very quickly .How did she even think that you were into sewing ,seeing that you were interested in a table ? Did you have some threads hanging off our clothes ,usually they only ask if your are looking or buying sewing related items.Enjoy your goodies

you would think I had threads hanging off of me but not. I haven't been looking for sewong stuff because my hudband says I have to much already so I was being good. I had to tell him I didn't ask but I couldn't pass up on this deal either LOL

You for sure are very lucky, your guardian angel must have been with you. I would think that probably whomever was the owner has either died or not able to sew anymore and the family wanted someone that would appreciate the items to have them. Tell hubby you hit the mother load without breaking the bank. Congrats. enjoy your good fortune.

yes but I hope my children will look at what it origanlly cost and not go so low of a price. I am leaving them with all my xmas collections and sewing items that's enough to fill a couple of rooms. if they sell it for that cheap I will come back LOL

Wow! What a haul you made! I love garage sales. Haven't run into that good of a one, but have always gotten excellent deals at them.
My kids and now GC ask me to find something specific for them and lately the next garage sale day I find what they wanted.
Enjoy your find - well worth the money!

It looks like she had a store that went out of business and just wanted to get rid of it so she wouldn't have to store it anymore.

I am happy for you to get these, evidently they no longer had use for them. It does though, make you kind of sad to think what must have happened to the owner, I would have to be DEAD to get any of my sewing out. I have also bought things so CHEAP that I think, "Don't these people know how much time and love the lady put into making this?" I bought afgans that I really didn't NEED but for $1 to $3

Michele you did het a bargin there. A nice jester would be to emb them a towel each or sew her something special as a Thankyou. It must have been sad for the lady to "give" away her hobby. :)

I asked her for her address but she didn't give it to me. I don't think it was her hobby I think it was one of their parents and was left in the basement until I showed up.

Husband & I went on vacation and kids came over to the house, had a yard sale, and then kept the money - about $300. Said they were just trying to help me clean.!
by michele921 13 Jun 2011
oH no!!!!! did they touch your sewing things too? I would have killed them. They could have at least given you the cash since you lost all the things
