Might not look the most professional but it really works. I was having trouble with metallic thread and small reels of embroidery thread getting knotted and twisted. I explained to DH what I needed and he came up with this. He has put a weight in the bottom to it cannot pull over and I can have it a distance from my machine.

Looks good to me. I have friends who put their metallic thread on a thread stand and place it on the floor. It works for them.
