My current question is what is the difference - pros/cons - between an area and a column. I am currently working on the stem of the flower and am struggling with the column object. I did take a tutorial from clipartopolis that used the column for a stem, but I am struggling to remember it :) I will watch the video again, but I am curious what's the benefit of doing a column instead of an area?

A column stitch is usually a satin (zig-zag) stitch going in the direction you have set the nodes. An area (fill stitch) is better if the object is wider than 1.2cm and can go in any direction. Hope this helps. Suet x
