Not embroidery but I was wondering if the Cuties knew of any sites offering free knitting patterns. I have been given some wool and I would like to make some childrens jerseys for charity.

I don't knit - but wish you well in your endeavor - what a great thing to do for charity.

I have used many patterns from Lion Brand. They have free patterns but I have a log in to access other patterns.

Sounds like fun - you can let your imagination take over! I rarely use knitting patterns as I make things up as I go along. It isn't difficult, especially for children.

Here's a site to check out. They have all sorts of free patterns, hats, gloves, gifts, stuff for babies, ladies, men, kids and pets, etc.

How wonderful to offer your time to knit for charity. Wool is so expensive but there are many people who collect over the years (me included) and never finish. I would love to do it too but at present don't even have enough time to cope with what I HAVE to do (my latest is crocheting a cincture for our priest. We also have a first grandchild on the way so am trying to get some things done. Happy knitting!

It amazes me that there are thousands of knitting patterns out there but so few of them are for anything useful! I'm glad you are planning to make jerseys - it really is easy to make up your own patterns. Send me a PM if you want any help.

The link provided below have wonderful patterns, they offer all their patterns free in hopes you'll buy the yarn from them. Good luck.

That's a wonderful undertaking! I have learned to knit (the knit stitch only) so I can make anything that is square or rectangular in shape.;)
