leave there till 4.15pm! I arrived at 10.00am and we had lots of lovely tea, rice cakes, philly cheese, tomato and sage! I also had some of her beautiful honey that they got when they had the hive evacuated.

Dulcie her mother in law sat in her chair and did cross-words all day. At 92 she is a bit of a character.

Bless Ray - he was working down in the garage setting up storage cupboards and making shelves. There are things everywhere to be put away, but they will get there. It's great having a husband who is handy at doing things for you - and when you want them done!

Thanks once again Meg, for a relaxing day, even though we didn't get anything done! It was wonderful chatting.

I commented on Meg's fabulous thread holders and with her generous heart gave me one. I've taken a picture for you all to see. And a couple of us.

Love and blessings Chris

1. Meganne with her huge cat Spanky - he was trying to get away from me - he is just a big scaredycat!

2. I took a picture of me from the position I was standing in looking back to the kitchen.

3. New thread stand that Ray has made - he has made a few and I told him he should sell them. He and Meganne had already thought of that!

The bag next to it is from my SECRET SANTA person. Thanks I'll open it on 25th July, it arrived on Thursday and I forgot to mention it on here.

Hi Shirlene, that is a scarf I knitted - it's made from lovely soft fluffy wool with long threads. It's gorgeous, I've also made one in purples, blues and greens! Love Chris

Love the pictures! That cat is huge!!! He must weigh like 30 lbs. ;) He looks bigger than my dog. LOL
by meganne 10 Jul 2011
Yes he's a big boy but he only weighs 19.5lbs. He was a rescue cat and gave me a lot of problems until he learned I was the boss, but that I would treat him fairly and he'd get more love and affection than he could ever imagine.
He now plays with me with retracted talons (he doesn't have normal claws they are huge and very hurtful). He lets me pick him up and carry him around, and we play chasing's and hide n seek. He loves to sleep on our bed now but he takes up so much room we can't move our feet so he gets a cuddle then goes into his own bed to sleep.
It is so heart warming that he trusts us so well now but he still takes off to hide when ever the doorbell rings.
hugs n roses, Meganne

I'm sure if Meg could she would have an army of Cuties at her place. That cat is just one of 3 - she has a beautiful Himalayan called Mishka but I forgot to take a picture of him and she has a little girl moggy. Love Chris

Your right the thread holder should be marketed. He did a wonderful job on the design. The kitty is a big boy. It will take a bit of time getting settled in to her new place so she was probably glad to have a distraction from putting stuff away. Sometimes it is nice just to have fun and not work.

So true, it was a lovely day just to sit, talk and think about what has to be done. They have a long way to go with putting things away in places where you can find them again ha ha he he! I always find that when you move you tend to keep things in the same place as your previous place. Well, that's what I do! Love Chris

I agree with you, yes, that cat is huge!

So thrilled to hear that you and Meg had a great visit - it doesn't surprise me that you were there all day - Hehehe! I love that Meg's hair has grown out so great - wearing a wrist brace - I see - she looks thinner, too. You look wonderful - what is that fur around your neck? Very pretty. What a nice thread rack - Ray did a lovely job and you are right - he could market and sell them. Glad you received your Secret Santa, too.

I am thrilled for both of you.

Well I reckon we could talk the legs of an armchair, us two! I think we were meant to find each other, don't you?

Yes, Meg wears a wrist brace to assist with pain etc. I too commented on her hair, I haven't seen it so long, I suggested she wear it up in one of those lovely hair clasps and she proceeded to show me some beautiful ones she has.

With regard to that funny thing about my neck it's a scarf!

I can't wait to try the thread rack out, it is huge! Love Chris

I did take the cars kilometre reading once, but I have forgotten what it was. LOL!!!
It only takes 30 minutes to drive at normal speed limit so it's probably only 30 kilometres or so.
Hugs n roses, Meg
by pennifold 10 Jul 2011
I checked that with Trevor too yesterday and we are only about 18 miles (approximately 30kms). Very quick ride straight down freeway conditions at mostly (80-90km per hour). Even if I get a couple of traffic lights it's still a quick trip. It's great that she is so close.

Thanks for posting Chris, I'm afraid after driving to Penrith and back the night before and only getting 4 hours sleep, I was really a bit wasted Friday, I was hoping you couldn't tell. LOLOL!!! Caught up on my sleep yesterday though as I slept 'til after 1PM.

I had a truly lovely day and I have to tell you Cuties, Chris is so effervescent I have trouble keeping up with her. hahahahahaha!!!

What she didn't tell you was that she made me a gorgeous pink tea-towel with an appliquéd Strawberries hanger, it is so lovely I found a place in my kitchen to hang it on my stove grid thingy. It's way too nice to hang in the laundry Chris, don't you Cuties agree?

The last time Chris visited she also bought me a gorgeous tea-towel, beautifully embroidered with a colourful rooster. (see pics below) I couldn't find my camera lead to upload the photo's before now.

Aren't they just gorgeous????

The third pic is Chris and Ophelie on their last visit, Ophelie took her first step that day, I was so thrilled to be part of that. :-)))

We sure did have a great get together, Ray even stopped and joined us for some lunch, that's very rare.

We have so much to do, especially since storage is so sparse in this house, at least I got my pantry organised, (Pic 4) but it's all packed in so snugly I'll have to label the shelves or I'll never find anything. LOL!!! I still have a bit more to move around but I'll need the special organiser sections (Ray built) out of the pantry at Penrith.
I may still have to commandeer part of the linen press to store kitchen items as I hate parting with my things and there just isn't enough cupboard space unless I pack things inside things and cram them all in,,,,, but then I also need somewhere to store all our bathroom stuff, ah, who needs linen anyway??? Yeah right!!!

Thank you all for your lovely comments it is so truly lovely to spend time with like minded friends and I believe most Cuties are compatible because we have our mutual love of crafts at the core of our friendship.
Thanks again Chris for such a lovely day and the beautiful tea-towel.
Hugs and roses, Meganne

I just found this post. So glad I did not miss it. Thank you for sharing the great photos. Glad Meganne is in her new house. I'm afraid she may have some of the problems that I had with my last move. I had more stuff than space. Hard to get rid of things you have had for years. I will share one idea with Meganne for her kitchen. I purchased some ceramic flower pot and crocks and used them on the kitchen counters to hold all the mixing spoons, spatulas, kitchen shears, pizza cutter ,etc. I had limited drawers to store items in and now they in plain site. Good morning Kay,

I'm glad you found this too. You're welcome about seeing the pictures. I think you're right about the move, you do tend to bring a lot of "things" that you don't really need.

I know Meg has a couple of those utensil holders, but I reckon she could do with some more. She had an overhead rung in her old house that used to hold pans, pots, etc. She would love to have that again and an island. Well, I think Ray may have his work cut out for him! Ha ha he he!
