With a laptop, you can hold down control (ctrl) and click on the link. It should have the same result. With a Mac, hold down "option" and click on the link. This won't work with all operating systems, but most of them. Good luck.

instead of clicking with your mouse button, click with the wheel of the mouse. Don't move it. It will open up a new tab in the same window. It works great for opening up a whole list at once instead of waiting for one page to load at a time. Go to a page that has multiple items that you can open and try wheel clicking with your mouse hovering over the link. The page you are viewing will not change, but you should see lots of tabs open up in the same window. It is a huge time saver.

Agreed. You can give your mouse buttons different commands. But the wheel click for new tabs is a default of several operating systems.
