The pattern companies have doll clothes patterns for 18 inch doll that will fit the American Girls. There seems to always be a sale on them so that you can get them for $1.99.

I have gotten lots of patterns from JoAnn's from all 3 major companies when they are on sale. All seem to make up well & fast. But must admit "sewing for dummies" ones make up the fastest. They all fit perfectly, but I had my doubts when I saw them before the girls put them on their dolls!!

I have 6 different patterns.

Next time you are in a Joannes store, take time to flip through all the pattern books and and make a list of the ones you want to try and wait until the patterns go on sale. Then, just to the bins and pull the ones on your list. On sale days it is often hard to find a book that isn't being used. I never pay full price or even the regular 40% off for patterns. Notions are so expensive, and I try to save all I can. Kay
