Yup, I should take a class, after I become familiar with the basics in the book. There are a some sites that sell tutorials, but it's not the same as the class. I really liked the machine comparison chart at the back of the book, but it's already 5 years out of date. Wish there was an updated one somewhere, would make shopping for a machine so much easier.

I have this book, he talks about his great! experience and the big! history of his company - and what color sorting is doing to his excellent! designs of 64 color stops - vain.
Well, for me it was not very useful, still can't digitize. ;-)) But I don't think I can blame Mr. Deer for that.
I think it is better to decide for a special software and use the handbook, video training or blogs for self-study and learning by doing.
But so far I would prefer to join a class.

I think Embird probably has the best on-line tutorials and support to learn from. I don't have any friends that digitize to ask them questions.

I have his book. I think I got more out of meeting him and listening to him talk, I do think the book is worth having because there is always more to learn, but I could already digitize before that anyway. I did a course and I would not have known where to start without it.

Yes, we all learn by doing. I have a few books to learn from, but still think live hands-on training is best.
