How do I open a .hus file? Do I need special softare, and if so, what kind? I want to download some stuff from here to stitch but I can't open the document. Please let me know. thanks!

What format does your machine use? If you don't use the HUS format, and don't have conversion software, you won't be able to open it. I don't know the websites, because I have digitizing software, but I know there are several free conversion softwares out there, including one from Tajima that I really like. Hopefully someone will be able to give you sites, and walk you through conversion if you need help. Good luck, Marji

I dont have a machine. I cross stitch and I was thinking to use these patterns for cross stitching. Is that possible? Or are these patterns ONLY for embroidery and sewing machines? Also, no matter what format I saved the pattern in, my computer had nothing to open it with. I'm trying the few ones recommended here so thanks everyone! Hope it works out for me. :-D

They are machine embroidery designs, so you can't use them. Depending on where you got the designs from you might be able to download a picture of the design as a jpg file and use a print out to embroider by hand.

First, here is a link to Marie's site, where you will find Wilcom truesizer and Pulse Ambassador, fee conversion programs, with a bit of tutorial so you know how to use them.
Second, you don't "open" a hus or pes or any of the embroidery files. In that form they are not zipped to have to open the zip, they just need a program for you to view them in. Files are usually given in a multitude of machine formats, and if not what you need, these programs can convert (except to art) for you.

Wilcom E2 TrueSizer is available. Yes in this product you open, select and then save to the format you choose. You can also resize, view stitches, watch the stitches as they are drawn out and save to many different formats. I save to pes. It even opens DST and Exp files. If you have any problems you can private message me.

If you are downloading from HERE like you said it usually gives you the option in which format you want to download the design. Check the boxes to see if the format you need is there. Other than that you already have the info for good free programs to download.
