Last night my son in law Rich put my PE design onto my laptop and I can sit by my machines and sew.
Until now I have had my PE design softwear on 2 computers. My old laptop is dodgy and has a broken hinge on the lid so has to be treated with care. The 10 year plus computer is in another room, so I have chased about upstairs between computers in different rooms. Now it is all together and I can see much time will be saved chasing about and not getting sucked into something else on the way. Apologies I think I should have put this in personal. Now I am off to the village carnival AND we have a great sunny day too

I truly understand how happy you must be feeling and I am so happy for you.
I'll never forget the first time I used my (newly purchased, 4th hand) laptop, alongside my machine, it was like all my Christmasses had come at once.
Prior to buying the laptop my machine and pc were at opposite ends of the house and it really was a chore to do any embroidery.
Now I don't know how I lived without my laptop.

Nah, this belongs here, because it's about sewing! Not to worry. Isn't it wonderful to have everything in one place? Having a laptop is almost a 'must' for embroidery, unless you have your computer/office and sewing room in the same space. Although, I suppose there's something to be said for getting up from the machine and getting a little exercise, running back and forth, hee hee hee. Enjoy yourself, baby your little old laptop, and have fun at your carnival! Hugs, Marji

I can relate. I was running up and down the stairs between my desktop and my sewing area until my wonderful children bought me a laptop and wireless router. Now my old desktop and external harddrive are set up as a server. My laptop stays with me and I can access everything wirelessly and back-up all of my designs etc. You would think running up and down the stairs would be good excercise but it just agravated my knees. Hooray for being set-up all in one spot.

FIESTA...I know what you mean! I have 3 computers all together. 1 older laptop, 1 mini netbook, 1 desktop. I carry the mini with me most of the time if I have some work to type or do ;D *2U
