Not sure what you need help with but here are the two most common problems with PED Basic:
If you are getting "no sewing data" then you havent installed the update to PED Basic to be able to view newer pes versions. See link below. Once on the Brother site you need to select your operating system.
If you see a red hoop with a line through it, then you've selected a default hoop which is too small to select and transfer designs to your card. If your machine will sew larger files, then you simply select a bigger hoop from the drop down box, if you can't sew larger files then the design needs to be resized.
Hope this helps.

Yes I am seeing a red hoop with a line through it but have resized the design down to 2 inches for a 4x4 hoop and it still shows the hoop with a line if someone can try opening the file and see if this is a size issue
What size is it now? And how many stiches? It may be still red becasue it has to many stiches
Good Luck

You may need to centre the design as well (sometimes I have to do this with resized designs as they're occasionally slightly "outside" the 4x4 hoop if not centred.)
The size is 2x2 with 35106 stitches. I'm not sure how to center the design and if this is the problem.
I don't know what you resized with, but if you're trying to sew 35,000 stitches in a 2x2 area, you're going to have a mess. I don't know how big the design was to start with, but you generally can't take a design down more than 10 to 20%. You can't reduce size a whole lot without removing stitches. Sometimes you can reduce 'redword' or line designs further, because the stitch number stays the same, but the stitch size is reduced. What exactly are you trying to do? Hugs, Marji
sorry the measurements are 2.2" x 2.2" and 18558 stitches

If you are having trouble using it on a Mac let me know.....
Also, my computer will not recognize the PES files written as capital letters. It will only open them if they are written as lower case. .pes
