This is very helpful. When my daughter married she kept her name. It's been confusing me as to how to do monogrammed items for them.

Thanks for this. I had an interesting situation a while ago when monogramming for a friend who has a 2 stage last name. Only the first bit is a lower case letter, not upper. In my machine software and purchased software all mono letters are in caps, yet I wanted to use lower case and upper case (of course -I seem to enjoy being difficult!).
