designs. If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know. This is my only emb machine! I don't think I can purchase directly from Brother . I may would have to go through a bussiness. In any case , it would probally be too expensive through Brother. However, just help me if you can.DESPERATE EMBROIDERER-Toogie

Have you tried a local dealer? Have a local friend with the same machine? I don't hoop the diapers. I only hoop the stabilizer and then use a little spray to hold the diaper in place until I do a fix stitch. I do hope you find one soon so you can finish your project!!!! Good Luck!

Of these 2, marv is the cheapest. If you want to look further, just google 270SE hoops. I agree, I don't hoop towels or tshirts or anything bulky.

ps- I heard somewhere, that someone used the adhesive they use for pvc pipes on it, might be worth an ask at a plumbing supply, they might just be intrigued enough to try it!

I checked EBay and typed Brother SE270D in search and there came many listings. I looked at first page and copied and pasted the link for you: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Hoops-Brother-SE-270D-SE-350-Embroidery-Machine-/350483252100?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519a6e0384#ht_500wt_1202
Three hoops: Large, medium, and small with no bids yet and starting price $50 plus $8 shipping or you can Buy It Now for $66 total with ship. This way you will have 3 hoops and would be able to embroider larger designs than 4x4 hoop only. You need to check carefully again if they will fit your machine before you buy. Not sure if generic hoops are the same quality as brand ones. My embroidery machine is Designer, and I am not familiar with Brother. Hope it helps, Anna

Just to clarify something, for those who may not know: your sewing machine determines how large your sewing field is. If your sewing field is only 4x4, you can put a 5x7 hoop on the machine, but you can still only sew in a 4x4 area. Getting a larger hoop only works if you have a large enough sewing field to use it. Hi Toogie
Sorry to hear about your hoop. I borke my P foot (embroidery foot) last year and i used crazy glue to put it back together and it worked. You could try crazy glue depending on where it's broke. Just hoop the stabilizer and pin the diaper to it, this will be less stress on the hoop. Hope this helps

Ouch! You've been given several good places to check, hope you can find one in your price range. Just a warning to everyone, this is why we use sticky stabilizer, pins, basting stitches--don't try to hoop heavy things, too much stress on the hoop. And, as you can see, it's only plastic, but it isn't cheap! Baby those hoops, ladies and gents. Hugs, Marji

sounds like you got a lot of good info. Good luck I Think I would be tempted to try the glue thing for plumbing. I also do not hoop diapers, towels or anything very heavy. You might want to look for a basting stitch design, that way you can baste the items to the stabilizer and not have to hoop. You can post here and ask if someone can give you a basting stitch for your machine. Some of the Cute's have done those for us. Keep smiling it will work out for you I am sure.

Have you tried using glad press and seal as your stabiliser it works well for me, just hoop the press and seal(sticky side up ) and press your item on to it, Sorry this won't help you with your broken hoop but worth thinking about for future projects

Seriously, does that work?? If so, how do you get the plastic off after ward? I'm really curious about this technique, as the bottom just went out of my finances, and I cannot afford to go buy sticky stabilizer. Now you have me excited!! You should post a mini tutorial on this. I'm sure that I'm not the only one who needs something a bit less commercialized. Woo Hoo! :)
It works really well, it tears away easily
it is the only stabiliser i use for towels ect

I use it as well, you can get rid of any little bits my just giving a light iron , it just dissapeares.

I have the same machine that refuses to thread through the cassette. Will probably use a sledge hammer on it. The cassette threader is *****.
But you can get extra hoops at AllBrands.com. They are very quick to send them to you.
If I decide to trash my machine in October or November I will let you know.
I love it when it threads, but the threading is ????
I got a Brother PE 780 D--5x7--I love it.

If my machine foot lever is not raised, it won't thread the machine, OR is it the cassette, itself that you are having trouble with? I am glad that you have a 5x7 machine, I hope God has 1 for me when I get to heaven, cause I may not get 1 here,ha ha.-T
