Does anyone want to see my hoop? Just wanted to warn of the danger of trying to hoop something thick, a diaper for a burpie , in this case. Should have known better, but had done it b/4-Toogie

maybe I can show you here, snapped right in the center, where you tighten with the bottom hoop piece.

I did the same thing! I still use the hoop though I'm to fruggle to buy a new hoop, lol.
same here, i used my hoop like this for a long time before replacing it
my hoop is cracked too (used superglue) but I would not know where to buy a hoop for a bernina deco 600 (older machine)- seems to be "shy" of these in marketplace.

Thank you. While I was hoping someone knew where I could get one, I never in my wildest dreams thought someone would, not only have 1 to get rid of but 3 ! Can't get much better than that. OH, yes it can.She also is sending a thread cassette & holder that goes with it! God and (I hope she doesn't mind me saying who she is) mariahail is good!-T

Sounds like you have a Brother's Disney SD 270D machine. I believe that Allbrands.com may still sell cassettes & hoops for them. Worth a look on their site...course you could always contact Brothers if that is the machine.

I was always afraid when you tighten it might strip the screw, never thought it would break hoop
I did that with my first embroidery machine it is a Brother's Disney SD270D. I still have the machine. I called Allbrands where I got it & they could not help me...so I contacted Brothers & I got a new part...now I know to only finger tighten. Have bought myself the Ellageo Plus a yr ago July & just love it so the Brothers sits by the wayside, I never got to use it much anyway. I am thinking of selling it. Know anyone that needs a machine PM me.

May be it is a weakness with this type of hoop. Mine broke there too, but I stuck mine with glue and it stills works ok. I don't hoop anything thick.

What kind of glue? I figured it would break loose again, wn=hen I tightened.-T
I think I would try the Gorilla Glue looks like it holds anything together. Capoodle put her car back together with it.

I never hoop diapers, towels, etc... way to thick... I don't even hoop the paper back book covers I have been doing... I hoop the stabilizer then spray then pin....sometimes I don't even spray.. I just pin.. Wishing you good luck !!!Jo

I didn't think I could pin through the thickness without tearing my WSS
I use tear away on the bottom and wss on the top... works GREAT !
pin thru all layers !!!
Or use a machine basting stitch before embroidering your design.

It looks like it is the "inside" hoop, right? I can't see why you couldn't glue it with some crazy glue and try it, because the outer hoop is compressing it inward and where can it go? I would try it! Glad you got some being sent to you tho! Linda

A several years ago an ambulance not on a call hit our car. I used Gorilla Glue and glued the parts back together. The car sat outside in heat and freezing weather and the glued parts still held. I used the wet glue on the car and now they make a Gorilla Tape like duct tape that is incredible strong. The secret to the wet glue is to spray a light mist of water and this caused the glue to expand and fill in any gaps. Will dry out in the plastic bottle it comes in so I store mine in a glass jar. Have bought this at hardware, drug, and Wal-Mart stores.

I did NOT know that would happen when hooping thick fabrics. I hoop jeans fabric and hoop it very tight because I hate for it to pull and pucker. I think I'll start being more careful now. Thank you for the heads-up. So sorry you had to suffer the misfortune of helping us learn your lesson.

I really, really doubt hoops are covered under the warranty. Especially if you break if by hooping a thick fabric. Maybe covered for the first year if it was defective.
