Oh dear, what a problem adelmarie, we can't have your son being tickled all the time can we! Does it only happen if you haven't washed the germent? If so, after a few washes the tickles might stop. I'm not sure where you'd buy the fusible mesh, maybe someone else will be able to help with that. Hugs and a flower sweetie.

adelmarie, my GD is the same way - finally I spoke with her about it and told her that if we washed it first - it might not do that - she was wearing a little under garment between them - after she stitched out one or two of them - herself - she didn't mind the tickle as much, after the first washing. I would think that the fusable would be scratchy, myself. I always cut the stitches on the under side of anything for this GD, too! *4U

There are a couple of things you can try. You could get just fusible interfacing and put that over the back of the stitches, or you can get the fusable mesh stabilizer. I know Floriani has one, and I believe that Sulky has one too, called a "no show" mesh. Good luck in finding a solution! Be careful if you clip the stiches on the back (as Shirlene suggested) that you don't cut them too close, since that can cause the design to start to unravel. To be on the safe side, only cut the threads that are long enough that something (like a finger) could get caught in them.

Any place that sells a decent variety of stabilisers should carry a fusible mesh. I use "Floriani no-show fusible mesh". Mine is flesh colored but it also comes in white and I believe black. I know you can get it online from "The Sewphisticated Stitcher". I got mine from my Pfaff dealer. I have 8 grandkids under 6 and use it on all their shirts. Have never had one complain about itching. Hope you find something that works. I know itchy kids are not easy to live with hahahahaha.

Osiyo! everyone. I saw a segment on Sewing with Nancy Z. last week. She addressed this issue and offers what you a re looking for on her website and offers it on her website. Some of your fabric stores like JOANS and Handcock Fabrics, carries it too. And if you look real careful so does WalMart.
I use a fusible tricot interfacing which is very light to cover the back side of densely stitched designs on my grandbabies clothing - it works great!

I just got what is called "cover stitch" from allstitchembroiderysupplies.com. Used it for the first time yesterday. It worked great!!! I could not find it anywhere local. I have placed 2 orders from them. They are very prompt and I have liked their supplies.

You are lucky!! My granddaughters said scratch. I bought a whole bolt in black and white (wish I had in nude ). Keep them next to ironing board. Cut a hunk off and trim to fit design. Turn shirt wrong side out and use a pressing cloth. my daughter and I noticed this mesh on bought items a couple of years ago. Some mfg call it fusible interfacing for knits.

I purchased a wonderful product from gunold.com that is the same thing you see in purchased baby clothes covering embroidery designs. The name of it is "Cover the Back" (creative, huh?) You just simple iron it on and it is very soft, almost silky feeling. ;)
