I NEED SOME ADVICE PLEASE. I would really like to learn to digitise, which program (preferably with a trial d/l) would be a good one to purchase?

I have janome digitizer pro with the upgrade to mb and i get some lesson from Trevor Conquergood online to show me how to do alot with this program it is really easy....you can find lots of information on sunsetstitches.com....and i also take classes once a month........check with your local stores in the fabric department and ask if they know of anyone local that teaches digitizing and they can possible help you out......Hope you follow your heart and learn it is so much fun.....

Terri, in my honest opinion there is only one at the top of the list, Embird! All the rest are wannabes.
Wannabe as good as Embird but never will.
Check the posts at the popular topics to the left, software, digitizing.... type in EMBIRD, digitising, you will find many more comment and opinions on this subject.

I have Janome Digitizer Pro also, and it's a wonderful program. But, if I were just starting now, I might really think about Embird, because it seems to do so many things, easy to use, and there is soooo much support by way of lessons, tutorials, and users to ask. It seems to be less costly as well, depending on the "modules" or whatever you purchase. Digitizer Pro was well over $1000. Great program, but for that price it darn well better be, hee hee hee. Try the Embird free trial. I also recommend Trevor Conquergood, it doesn't matter what program you use, because he doesn't teach a program, he teaches "how" to digitize, what you have to be aware of no matter which program you're using. Those basics will save you a lot of mistakes. I wish you luck, and do follow your passion, digitizing is such fun, so creative! Hugs, Marji
