I just finished a bunch of baby items for a sweet couple who have a beautiful new baby. I love this design - I centered it perfectly and alas, I should have centered it visually instead - see what I mean? Ugh, it would have looked so much better!!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that it is a design from The Needle of Anne.

It looks lovely, but you're right, it looks off-centre. That ribbon on the right does it. Only thing to make sure it looks right is to use a template of the design, print it out, cut along the edges of the design and move it till you think it's right. Then mark the centre of the design.

You are right - it is the ribbon that does it! Using a template is a wonderful idea - live and learn!!*

You will not be the first to do this but we learn by our mistakes. Looks ok anyways.

We are our worse critics, When it is tied around the neck of that sweet baby, the parents will not be looking to see if the design is centered. I still like it.

I see what you mean.... Ls are probably harder with that strong vertical line that your eye is drawn to. The design and work is beautiful though, and it won't stay hanging straight on most babies!

You are kind!! And, you are correct about L's - but, I should have adjusted it before stitching it out!!*

Thanks, Gerry, the letter is lovely - all of "From the Needle of Anne's" designs are beautiful. I believe I will feel better if I just go ahead and stitch another!!*

I think it is lovely work - but if it makes you feel better about it - another one can be stitched out quickly - maybe you can make something with this as another little gift.

I think it looks great....I can see that it is centered but our eyes play tricks on us....don't worry about it....after all how many babies have on a perfectly center bib any way????
She was a smart lady to take it anyway....she knows...

Just stick you a small butterfly on the ribbon and no one will even try to second guess it! I think it is just lovely! A butterfly about the size of the flower would even out the piece of flowing bow. I had noticed that this alpha was going to be a challenge when I was downloading the letters. I don't know if I would do anything to it. It is centered but someone that did not do embroidery could possibly think different. You could always ask the person that you are doing it for and see what they think.

It looks lovely but I know how annoying it can be when this happens. I do not think the baby will mind. LOL.
