Wow, thank goodness we don't have earthquakes (South Africa) not sure if I would like that at all!!

I'm really just kidding. I do get nervous when there is an earthquake. I move away from the fireplace and windows. I have to think quick depending on where I am.

Afterwards I check to see where it was with the link here. And then I assess the school situation to see if the kids need me. I guess the big thing about California is that we are used to knowing what to do in the event of an earthquake. If we had a tornado I don't know what we would do. We don't have a basement or an indoor room without windows.

I've been through so many earthquakes in so many places. There was one when I was in a parking lot and I said to another guy, "Hey your car is shaking." I thought it had a full tank of gas that was wiggling or something. Then he said, "Well your car is shaking too." Then I looked at the nearby department store with big glass windows and the windows were waving.

Then there was the one in Foster City that is built on landfill. Now that one was an E ticket. The quake literally rolled through the living room like waves not jolts.

My scariest was the Loma Prieta quake. I was home with my oldest boy, he was a baby, asleep in his crib. I actually tried to walk down the hall to him, which you're not supposed to do. I couldn't walk down the hall anyway because it was too shaky so I took shelter. He slept through the whole thing and we were lucky not to have any damage. A friend just a couple miles away had all of her pictures fall off the walls and she didn't put them back up for years.

I'm from So. California and really don't miss those earhquakes. Still trying (after 14 years) to get used to these dang tornadoes out here in AR. Not sure which is worse.

Another day with more of what earth has to unleash upon us. We have been very fortunate of only the small amount of damage and no deaths reported from these earthquakes. Just another reason to learn how to be prepared for anything. Hope your day wasn't rattled further with any aftershocks. Now to find the safest place on earth to live. Living in a bubble might not be a bad idea. lol
