These are "new to me"! I saw these on the Internet and had to make one. They really can hold a bunch of stuff. Simplicity has a pattern but I just measured it out according to my cup and it worked fine.
I added a different picture so you can see the inside a little.

I've been meaning to do a few of these for friends who work in the office. Looks great!! A new way to sell coffee mugs at garage sales too, lol!

they are called mug buckets , have pockets all around for your pens,pencils,pointy things,scissors etc. use the middle for larger items.

Simplicity pattern is 10 bucks but wait for sale at Hancock or Joanns and get it for a dollar. Never pay full price or just make you own pattern for free!
I saw the pattern online and you can see the back of the pattern. I just eyeballed it and measured accordingly. I think it may depend on the size of your mug. AND, if you can get the pattern for $1, all the better!
