O.K. I put in a new needle 75/11 - I used two layers of WSS - I slowed the machine down - I put White Polyester thread in top and in the bobbin.
Guess what, can you still see the stitching line just inside the satin stitch. I'm at a loss as to what to do now!
Any more suggestions?

I have had things like this happen, and I actually went and did a wider satin stitch around the edge - but that is tricky. I don't know who's design this is, but I would send a note and attach the copy. I think that they may need to take a look at it, and adjusts their design.

It's obvious now on this stitch out before you remove the WSS that the outline stitch was incorrectly placed when it was digitized. It is a hassle but I would let them know about this design flaw and maybe they will refund or give you a credit to use on another design.

Chris, I have some of that rubbery matting that you can buy from the cheap shops and have cut it to fit my hoop then I put it under the top of the hoop to hold the WSS from slipping. Maybe that is worth a try. Hugs Marg

I eventually found this design and have stitched it out and posted here in projects.

All I can suggest to you is to add the shelf liner to your inner hoop and try again using 2 layers of the fibrous water soluble like you show in the picture.
I have to agree that this may be a design flaw and Miems needs to correct the digitizing of the design.
If I had this design I would try and stitch it out for you to see how it would work for me on my D1 with Rayon thread.
These are very pretty and it is such a shame that this is happening.

Always Use Sharp point embroidery needles for FSL, not ball point needles.
Size 75/11 or 80/12 work best for lace.
