After Margaret's try on WSS plastic film - I thought I'd give it a try. I used double plastic as mine is not as thick as Margaret's brand - I even used the rubber backing.
Guess what - you can still see the thread lines inside the outer edge? So maybe I need thicker thread, or need the thicker WSS like Marg's.

I mentioned it in the first posting. I got it from Secrets of Embroidery (SOE) it is from Dainty Stitches. I've written to her and she has been great - has offered me a couple of designs in place of the ones I bought. I'm going to keep trying with these ones though and try different options as I really love these. Love Chris

Try using the fibrous type of WSS. Place one sheet at a 45 degree angle over the other. This may help because it doesn't distort as much as the plastic type.

10 out of 10 for persistance and sorry I have no ideas to help. Good luck and hope you get the problem sorted soon. How about contacting the company the design came from and ask just how did they achieve a 'perfect' design when stitching. Have a flower

Last thought - why dont you get Marge to stitch them out for you...

As you can see the needle has punched holes through your Film type of water soluble stabilizer.
This can cause design problems.
For FSL you can use the Ultra Solvy or Badgemaster both are the thick plastic or film like water soluble. 2 layers might be best to use for the napkin rings.
I use to use Badgemaster but have switched to the Fibrous type of water soluble such as Vilene water soluble. That was the first water soluble you used for the napkin rings.
The Fibrous type of water soluble will not punch out like the Film type does from the needle stitching over and over again in the same spots.
Chris Try the Fibrouse Type of water soluble again - 2 layers and see how that works for you.
As far as using the Shelf Liner for your hoop don't put it in the corners of the hoop as the corners are the tightest spots on our hoops. The long sides and the top and bottom sides are looser and that is where all the stabilizer movment occurs.
This stitch out looks much better than your first.
Perhaps due to using the same thread as top and bobbin thread.
Keep us posted.

Hi Eastwitch, if you look at my earlier posting (2nd try at them) I used the fibrous WSS. That is the only stuff I use and I've never had an issue like this. I happened to have some of the plastic stuff that I got at Spotlight as an alternative, but I don't use it as I don't like the way the needle pierces it. I'm going to try and get some of the thicker stuff, but am waiting to hear from Margaret as to where she buys it from. Love Chris

Have you tried the wss that looks like fabric? H2Gone is what I use and I sometimes used 2 players with the 2nd layer floated under the hoop but placed at a 90' versus the first layer. Keep on trying Chris, you can do it :)

You may have to give up some of the lacy open quality and stitch it out on a sheer organza. Which can also be very pretty if you use a sparkle organza.
