I agree it is strange to comment on something and see 6-7 zeros below me! I've been sort of making little extra comments here and there, plus making a point of mentioning I am giving flowers to all below me. Seems people are not bothering to read (or see) comments from others. I don't like to see zeros.

I guess I felt a personal comment - more than just THANKS - was appropriate. Very, very seldom do I download a design without at least a sentence long comment and thank you. By the time I do that, I forget about the flower thing as I just have not gotten into the habit. Is giving a flower more appreciated than a comment about a design or should you do both?

I think both are appropriate. I try to do both..... just don't add a flower to any and all that are on the screen at any given time.

First thing I do is give a flower, than I download. If I'm not to busy I also leave a comment. I appreciate ALL our digitizers, they are an inspiration to those of us who either do not, can not or are just learning to digitize.

I love to give flowers to everyone who asks, gives and answers unless I am super busy or not at home. I also use the flowers to indicate that I downloaded the design, and I try to leave ample comment. Once in a while I forget the comment, however the flower stays until I try to download it again! The signs of a failing mind ( I had to back up twice to correct typing haha). Holiday weekend... all but me have a life and a barbeque!My Motto: Live, Laugh, Download, and Stitch!

I think I know the answer. For the past 3 or 4 days so many people have been on here and the site has been so slow that I have not downloaded any designs by Cuties as I knew I would not have time. I do want Basketkases' alphabet and her other designs also, but thought I would keep popping in and find a time when others are not here. Maybe Veronika should have one of those counters as how many are on line. Some sites call them visitors on line. Then I know whether to try to download or not. ha! ha!

Guess people have just gotten busy, school starting, getting back to some kind of after summer routine, I don't know. I have noticed this tooooooooooo. Remember it is quicker to give flowers from the bottom of the page up than the top down. Sometimes in projects I do not make a comment but just give everyone a flower. I also hate to see 00000000000000's.

I haven't had a chance to download the alphabets yet. I hope they stay up long enough for me to get them. I'll give flowers. What I find myself doing is leaving a comment and then forgetting to give a flower. So I try to backtrack (ctrl+shift+T) and bring up closed tabs to give flowers. I would give more than one if I could. I've noticed the "missed" flowers a lot here lately. Maybe everyone is just too busy or afraid they are going to run out of flowers if they give too many.
For anyone who doesn't know, flowers are like hugs, smiles and thank you; you NEVER run out. It just feels nice to receive them!!

I give flowers regularly as I also do not like the rows of 0's. I think that a lot of the newbies just do not understand the concept. Maybe this will help them to understand although I have seen a few queries lately from them, regarding the flowers. You have all got another flower from me - top to bottom !

Hi Carolyn, I give a flower before I download from DBC and also give a comment, even if it is just a thank you. Also I try to go back to the designs that I have uploaded onto DBC to give everyone a flower as well and also try to comment. Sometimes I will just put a general thank you to all and then click ttt on the last that has downloaded it.
I also love to give flowers on the projects and community. I leave flowers also for a record that I know I have read the posts.

I see that you already have 124 flowers so that means that other cuties have been clicking when they have read something that you have written, downloaded a design that you have given, posted or answered a question, etc.
They cost nothing to give, there is no limit to how many you can give at any time - the only limit is that you can only give one flower at a time.
They are little "nothings' that do not cost you anything but make others feel good ! Just like picking a flower out of your garden and handing it to someone !!!!

Yes of course. I understood that we were giving the ability to give flowers as a mark of appreciation for the help and advice we received from other Cuties. I remember when they first started to show by my name - I e-mailed Miss Veronica to find out what the purpose of the flowers was - she was trialing them ling before we were able to give them to each other. To start with they were only given when we visited the site each day.
As I said before I am going back to a sleeper --- but I do LOVE visiting this site - always have - hope I always will!

I was gone for 4 days and I am just now catching up with posts. I rarely comment on DBC but give every design a flower whether I downloaded it or not. If someone puts out all that effort of digitizing a design and passes it on to others for free they most certainly deserve a flower and I appreciate their effort. When I have time I go and check out projects (which seems to be the slowest category)and pass out flowers and sometimes make comments. I also see a lot of 0 when someone took the effort to research and answer a question.

I have just finished downloading the new Merced alpha on DBC and again - very, very few flowers given. None given by members who have been with cuties for ages (by looking at the number of flowers that they have collected). Really a pity that this is still happening. Why - they cost nothing ?

Yup, I go to give thanks, and there are 5 and 6 zeros. Sometimes I remark on it.(then I feel guilty) but, gee, you don't have to go all the way down, but sprinkle on those with none. There should be no zeros!
