Yep the water was out of the pot and the smell was all over the kitchen... Now I do it for a second time.. and with a timer (10 min and then a bell will sound) next to my pc.. :-)

Yes, Cute can be "brand-dangerous" ;o)
I have a gas-hob and must be careful when start cooking my water for the coffee. An empty cooked kettle does not smell delicious *lol*
Hope you have fun her on cute and an understanding husband at home...
Greetings, Bettina

I have the perfect solution for you. After several pans boiled dry (combination of being online, being overwhelmed with work at home and taking care of my husband), I went and bought a whistling tea kettle. Now even the neighbors know when I get distracted. :) I haven't had a single pan go dry since. For pan cooking, I try to stay in the kitchen or put a timer in my pocket. I try to cook in the oven so it isn't so critical that I be exactly on time.
Welcome to one of the best sites on the whole internet. Pull up a chair and don't forget sleep once in a while. :)

you will have to train your d/h to do the cooking.....when my d/h retired from teaching he took over the cooking duties seems i did not not know how to cook or wash or hang it out and then he came food shopping with me took over the shopping trolley and i asked what was the point of me going shopping he answered none so he now does that too...yeah yeah i know i am a bit spoiled but i do the painting and several other thins like that....lo. soozie

I solved my "Cute addiction, not watching the cooking" problem.
I put a desk and my laptop in between the lounge and dining area (open plan) and I can also see into the kitchen from my laptop, so I am close enough to just walk over, give a pot a stir, and walk back to Cute. I had it all planned at our first inspection of the house. :-)))))
Now what will happen when my sewing area is all set up downstairs, is a whole other question? I guess we'll be eating a lot of cold salads. hahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

My husband does the same thing but he is watching tv, can't be bother to record the show.I'm sure the mess on the hot plates takes longer to get off ,than it did to get there in the first place.Years ago, while I was at a craft market, he managed to burn the kitchen curtains because he fell asleep while watching tv instead of keeping an eye on his cooking.
