No - I'm asking how big can my embroidery design be. They seem to make this information elusive or diguise it with the frame size.

So that is like a 5.75 by 8? a little better than a 5 by 7. Anyone know how old it might be?
Probably about 3 years or even more. The way I understand it is that this model still works with the design cards and that it was replaced by the Elna 8300. I would suggest you look on the Elna website (for your country for maintenance purposes) where all the specs are given.
Sorry should have said that this was an available model when I bought a new machine about 3 years ago and I also had a look at it.

Hi Christine, as Babie has pointed out it is 140mm x 200mm Do you use the exchange box or the USB Stick in your machine

I have this same machine, you get 2 hoops, one is the 4x4, and the other one is the 5x7.
