a zipped file is usually how a pattern or pictures are sent it takes less time to download. You need to have some type of program in your computer to 'unzip' these folders, then you can put then on your memory stick. I have 4D Embroidery and unzip the folders there, put them in their own folders and then download onto my usb stick when needed. Good luck and hope this helps.

Zip files usually contain a number of files, if you are talking embroidery then you would find when you unzipped the file that you would have several different formats of embroidery..you might also have a color chart file included, files take up less room when they are zipped, but it means you have to unzipped every time you want to know what the file contains..if you unzipped and delete everything except the format you want then you will find your files faster when you are looking for something in particular...hope this doesn't confuse you more than help you... *4U

if you right click on the zip folder, then hit extract...you then choose where you want the file to open...i have a seperate file on my desktop (computer screen) that says work...and i direct all my files there till i have time to file them into my embroidery program...this is when you can put them on your memory stick and welcome to cute embroidery...heres a flower for you

In case you don't have WINZIP, here is a link to a free download. Normally this program costs about $30 but I've been using my 'trial' version forever. On the same page (down the bottom right hand side) you will see links for WINRAR and WINZIP (trial & purchase) versions.
