Bad day yesterday - my beloved pekingese managed to get an ulcer on his left eye. Rushed him off to the vet. I have to clean and medicate the eye several times a day but already the eye looks better. I was in such a state as I thought he might have to loose the eye. We still have no idea what could have caused it.

Awww, so sorry to hear that Sarah! He is really a cutie! I have 2 cats and one needs to be put down soon, her quality of life is very bad. Kisses to your doggy.

Debra - I am so very sorry to hear this. You and your pussy-cat are in my thoughts. It is such a hard decision to make. Thank you for your kind words. Sarah

Oh Debra-been there, done that, it sure is not an easy thing to do. But then it's not fair to the animal either when we want them to live forever and they just aren't themselves. It's really hard when you are the last one to hold them when you hand them over-they look at you with those eyes that just say "oh pleeeeeese- I love you" shoot-I am tearing up just remembering the last cat we had to put down. Crazy old lady-quit crying!! =O(

Thank you he is getting better by the hour. The eye is still very milky but he is much better in himself.

Awww...so cute Sarah-sorry about the ulcer but glad to hear the medication is working. Our pets are so much a part of our lives, it's like they are one of our kids when they need doctoring.

Thank you Gerry - We are not quite out of the woods yet but to me his eye looks a lot better. We have a further appointment at the vet on Wednesday.

He reminds me of the Pekingese that would escape out of his house and visit us neighbors ~ his name was Fuji and was prone to eye infections. Is this a common condition of this breed? Am very glad to know the medication is working for him. Your little guy is a real cutie.

Thank you Anita. Pekingese are prone to eye troubles as they have protruding eyes. The vet says that Mushu's condition was something like a thorn or sharp piece of plant going in his eye.

Poor little guy. That must have been painful and uncomfortable for him. Glad you were able to get him to the vets and fixed up.
