Please remember my cousin Pam and family in Harrisburg, PA, USA in your prayers. They are in the Susquehanna River basin, and a lot of press has been given to the flooding in DC, Maryland, New York, but not much to Harrisburg. The river is expected to crest at 29 feet above flood stage, worst flooding EVER in that area. Her son and family were just getting on their feet, just got a job, and now this. Her basement flooded from the ground just being so saturated, and several people were killed when buildings collapsed on them. I don't even want to talk about the animals at the Zoo, that is a case for the cruelty inspectors!! Hershey candy factory was started by Milton Hershey, a great humanitarian. They have taken over so much there in Hershey, PA, all in the name of making money, and have put many people out of work by sending work to Mexico instead. They were responsible for the Zoo animals, unbelievable suffering and death. Please remember all in your prayers, and don't buy Hershey candy, it's not an "American" product any more. Milton Hershey is probably turning over in his grave! Sorry for the ranting, but this hits way too close to home for me, and reminds me of the end of the world coming, I guess. Thanks for your prayers, hugs, Marji
About the flood insurance: if you don't need it, you can get it cheaply. If you're in somewhere like the Susquehanna Valley, you have to pay so much more than you could ever afford that most people don't have it. Regular house insurance won't cover any of this. Sigh, I'm so sad for my friends and family, and all the others there!
That is "he founded the Milton Hershey School for wayward boys". Gave them a real family and education.
the water to recede and things to return to normal quickly!
