Friends don't slam other friends for having a different opinion. I feel 2 cuties were singled out and now are being labeled whiners,complainers,beggars,entitlers and ungrates. Just for saying what they were thinking. You are not alone Jo. I'm proud to call you a friend

I do not know the situation you are referring to, but friends should not turn their back on you because you have an opinion, regardless of what that opinion is. People who have to berate other because of their beliefs or opinions are the "holier than thou" sort, who should just keep their opinion to themselves. For the most part, I've seen the folks of this site as wonderful and caring group. BUT, I've seen a few surprisingly pretentious comments that should not have been said in a public forum. That is just hurtful and serves no purpose other than to boast one's own perceived superiority. Don't let others drag you down. Ignore the troublemakers, and come back and join in with the good folks of the group.
For a variety of reasons, I am rather home bound, and the folks online are my group of friends. I understand what something like that could do to your self esteem. I hope that you have started to feel better and are ready to carry on. There are bad apples in every barrel. Hopefully this does not rub off on you. Hang in there!

Always, pretty much, but I don't think it's shut my mouth yet. A lot like "justonlyme" I am stuck alone a lot, and online is entertainment. But, it can also be trouble. It's way too easy for typing to be mistaken, for people to read in inflections that aren't there, and use perhaps regional idioms that are very understandable in one place, but not in another, especially halfway around the world, as some of us are. This is a nice community, if this is what you're referring to, but sometimes toes get tread on too easily, messages get misinterpreted, whatever. Just remember that 'computer' friends aren't like real friends that will bring you chicken soup and drive you to the doctor when you're sick. A million messages, so much sympathy, but when your car breaks down, you still got to thumb a ride, the laptop can't pick you up. Being hurt isn't worth it...nor sometimes making waves. Drag your earth-anchor a bit, and remember it's not that far past full moon, makes things a bit crazy. Hang in there, Marji
