ADVICE PLEASE. If I reduce the size of a design, what is the suggested minimum stitch size one should use?

Hi Terri, it depends on the design. If you are using the Wilcom EM function, you may want to save a version before you play with it. I'm assuming you are using Wilcom E2- EM function "small stitches". If the pattern is outline and then fill - you may get some blank areas. If the pattern is more layering - not many stitches will be removed and the pattern will stay dense. Hope this helps christine Live Laugh Download Stitch!

This is so dependent on your embroidery machine and if it recalculates stitches as you change the size; also dependent on your software program; your dealer could best help you with this answer. Generally I tell my students no more than up or down 20% without recalculation. I, however, have had some issues with some poorly digitized designs -- not from Cute
Thanks to both of you for the advice, I will have to play around with the Wilcom programme!!! My Elna machine will reduce/enlarge only up to 20% and recalculates the stitches. I was not sure about the Wilcom programme. I am about to make placemats using African masks and I need them somewhat larger, but I think that there will be blank areas if I do so! Oh well, too bad I will have to make another plan :)

Thank you Terri. It was a stuggle to stitch out 1 piece today. Tomorrow will be better. I just got my flu shot! I'm such a baby!
