Your toys are too cute. I am with you, I would love to see others projects like yours. I use to be a cloth doll and soft toymaker but once I got hooked on fsl, I put my fabric away.

I don't agree with you. You should see what my girlfriend has made. Wait till I make my Lion on Monday.

One thing catches my eye: I've seen that you use button and pearls on some of your cute animals. Are they for babies? I just ask cause I'm always careful with stuff that could be ripped off...

My Mum used to make golliwog dolls, always called Sambo, for the children in the family. She'd find the best of the old black socks worn by the men in the family and create wonderful, friendly, warm, little people that we all loved. Those little dolls lived forever and I often wonder who has my children's black dolls now. Mum always embroidered them in red - just black sock fabric and red wool, no clothes, just embroidered buttons and a line where the jacket might have ended. No special filling, just cut up old socks or fabric.

That's such a lovely memory. I wonder if I can find the pattern on the internet to get a little doll out of a man's sock....

Wish you could all come to my place. Don't know what I will do with all of mine. If I can't give them to friends and family, might go with the trauma teddies.

I tried the sock monkey once. Even bought the special red heeled socks. When I cut into them they unraveled so bad i ended up with the whole mess in the trash.

Don't think I could make them, but I was thinking of you when I went to the Dollar Tree here, and saw all of those types of socks - from ones for babies, to adult sizes - What wonderful colors they had And I know they are comfy to wear - that is what I use. on my feet in the winter months here.

If you scroll down on this site - almost to the bottom on the right hand side, this little guy is like my "Snodgrass" but If the sock was turned around the other way, the heel of the sock would make his belly instead of his bottom.
