Update on hubby. He's doing OK. He should be out of hospital tomorrow. He called for me to go get him one of the tester machines as they want to show him how to use it before he leaves the hospital. Said he's trying hard to eat the way he's supposed to (so many foods he doesn't like!)

So glad he will be out of hospital soon. I am sure he will get used to eating correctly, even if he does have a mistake now and then!!! Best wishes and God Speed

This sounds promising that he has asked you for the meter kit. It's going to be his new way of life and hopefully he will behave and stay on track.

I don't know if it is World-wide. Here in South Africa is: Centres for Diabetes and Endocrinology.
If you belong to a medical aid then you can get all the treatment for diabetes from the centre with no or very little to pay. Please see if you can find something like that in your country. Love Marie

It is never easy to change things - but if it is what is in front of him and none of the bad things - what can he do - but eat it and learn to enjoy what is there. There are many foods that he surely likes on the list of good foods to eat - make lots of what he does like.

With both of us being diabetics I have found that if it is not there it cannot be eaten. The diabetes diet is a good diet for all the family, it is just sensible eating. Although I must say I do spoil the G'kids with special treats when they are visiting
