Oh no! That's terrible... I had someone take my charge card and had a field day at Nordstroms... I was blessed in that I didn't have to pay for any of it. I always use Paypal or a credit card... do you guys down under have debit cards attached to your checking accounts? That may be an alternative???

The best way to buy on the internet is via Paypal, it is secure and free to enroll. Never use a debit card. Flower and XoXo

I use my DISCOVER card all the time online, because you can use their "create a secure account number"; which means it's a one-time number for that merchant and IT'S NOT YOUR card number.

whats a Discover card where do I find it
Discovercard.com - it's a credit card and they even give you 1% rebate on accumulative purchases. It's the card I use the most, so I do pretty good with the rebate bonuses - it's cash in my pocket.

Get yourself a Debit Visa card, these work only on the amount of money you have in the account, so you only spend what's there. It is the only way I will purchase over the internet. Example the card has $50.00 so you can only spend $50.00. Get one, I love it.

Minnieb, where do you get most of your designs from? You can get a visa debit card, which you can deposit a specific amount into then use on the internet, but as it is not an actual credit card, it cannot be used if there is no money in it,or something like that. It is really an ATM savings card but has the ability to be used like visa. does this make sense? IF you want to open one, you can use it soley for the internet and keep track of your purchases like that.

Minnie, I have an ANZ Debit Card. This is also a Visa card combined, which I linked to Pay Pal. I only put a set amount into this account to use. Also, most of the Credit Unions have Debit/Visa account - but some do require you to put regular wages into them, which means you have too much money in them. +*4U

I use a Visa debit card that I purchase at my bank. They work just like a credit card you only have a certain amount on them and not a large limit. ( Like you I have had a problem ,with idenity theft and am afraid to use a credit card ) A flower for you Good Luck

I can't win when My mother died someone got into her stuff and stole my birth cert and used that .they rocked up $60,000 in mine and my brothers name .I was saved by a motel manager that said the girl was short and blonde I am tall and dark . I don't give my birth date out to anyone now ,its hard when friends want to do birthday wishes
I understand , A birthdate, SS# is all they need to take your idenity. ( the Debit Card is the answer for me. )
Oh yes , Just wanted you to know that the Debit Visa Card that I am talking about is not attached to your checking acct. It is really like a Gift card but when you activate it they set it up for internet use. ( Works well I just bought a new machine with a Visa Debit card ) ( had to buy several ) .

I use paypal and once in a while transfer funds from my bank acct to my paypal acct. That way I don't need a charge card. I have done this for a couple years now with no problems. *4U ><>
