If they are digitized designs - you use a wing needle - not the embroidery needle - if they are not - you should have a lesson at your local shop to understand it completely. You can read up on it - if your brian works that way, too.

I use a wing needle & a hemstitch on pillowcases & sheets .Just replace your everyday machine needle with the wing needle & try out some hemstitches that are built into your machine
